The Old Baker Farm stands as a historic marker of days gone by. Homesteaded over 200 years ago, the Old Baker Farm withstood the perils of the Civil War and remains today as a traditional family farm, growing crops from cotton to corn, including pumpkins. The farm has been worked by the Baker family for over 100 hundred years and was one of only 12 farms featured in the USDA 2000 calendar titled “Millennium Celebration of Century Farms.” Since it’s founding, the Old Baker Farm has seen six generations of the Baker family.

The farm is open to the public for seasonal special events and activities, so visit with us at the Old Baker Farm and take a step back in time!

Biomedical interventions are also becoming a vital component in improving the lives of children with autism. Unfortunately, families must pay for both of these beneficial therapies out of pocket with little to no assistance from insurance or outside sources.

Scholarships: AAAP provides scholarships for behavioral therapy and biomedical interventions to children around the state of Alabama. Scholarships are given four times per year and applicants may apply multiple times. The Board of Directors of AAAP vote on who receives the scholarships. Applicants must complete a scholarship application. They must indicate on the application if they are applying for assistance with behavioral or biomedical therapy or both. If the application is for behavioral therapy, a letter from the Board Certified Behavior Analyst overseeing the program must be included. If the application is for biomedical treatment, a letter from the medical doctor providing treatment must be included. If the application is for both, a letter from each provider must be included. Scholarship amounts will be based on funds available and the need of the applicants.

Services: Through the HANDS Program, AAAP is able to offer multiple options for behavioral and group therapy. Some of the options include: one on one in-clinic behavioral therapy, one on one home/school behavioral therapy, preschool classes, social skills groups, training for parents and professionals, and consultation services for parents and professionals.

Sweet Monday mini-sessions are offered the 4th Monday of each month. Mini-sessions cost $35.00 for one day only. You must book and pay on that month’s Sweet Monday in order to receive the special session fee. Senior and engagement sessions are discounted to $50.00. If you miss a Sweet Monday, plan to take advantage of the one next month!
