What a difference one date can make... Who would have thought Tony Roma’s BBQ joint would cook up such a romance? Yep, it was sweet, spicy, tangy, and rich, and we’re not talking about the sauce but, the sparks that flew between Jay and Christine Carr the night they first met on a triple date. Though not each other’s date, they instantly knew there was a connection not easily broken. After graduating from Samford University, Jay was on the road with Student Life Ministries and Christine was on the road as either an RN, pre-med student, student pilot, aspiring Miss Alabama, or backpacker through Europe. Three years of dating and Jay finally lassoed his love, they were married at Church at Brook Hills in 2000.
